Another great cleaning agent would be white vinegar. Even though it may smell strong, vinegar is a natural born cleaning agent used for decades. This common household item is unique because it will not leave a grimy film behind but it will ensure your floors are as clean as you can make them. When mixed with baking powder, the two will actually have a disinfecting power. This can be great if you are cleaning your floors but also be wonderful if you want to clean everyday surfaces.
Since companies are going green more and more every day, they will come out with products that are "green". These cleaners off no harmful additives and use no chemicals that would be considered abrasive. The only thing to remember is to use it as directed so there are not any adverse effects on your flooring. Going green is better on the environment however it is also better on your wallet, whether it may be short term or long term. Giving your floors a natural treatment instead of hard abrasives will save you money but it will more importantly leave your home looking like new.
